Tuesday is the big day: the first Future Leadership event in Minneapolis. The session being presented in Sustainable Power and Influence featuring Paula J. Caproni. It looks like it’s going to be a really interesting session based on the agenda:
Introductions and Welcome
Session 1: Why Influence Matters – A Lot
This session focuses on why it’s critical for you to develop ethical, sustainable power and influence.
Session 2: Developing Interpersonal Influence
You will learn the Social Styles model and how to use it to influence others. We will explore:
- The Social Styles model
- Your personal Social Style and how it affects your ability to influence others
- How you can best influence people with each of the different Social Styles
Session 3: Developing Political Savvy
You will learn strategies for increasing your political influence. We will explore:
- How you can distinguish ethical from unethical political strategies
- How you can build your social capital, especially your networking strategies
- Structural power and how you can get it
Session 4: Using the 6 Universal Forms of Ethical Influence (Based on R. Cialdini)
You will learn 6 scientifically-proven influence strategies that are more likely to inspire a “yes” rather than “no” response to your requests. We will explore:
- The 6 universal forms of ethical influence and why they work
- How you can use this knowledge to influence others
- How you can influence others by changing just a few words in your request
- How you can identify and use an often-missed “moment of power”
- How you can use this knowledge to make better decisions
Session 5: Creating Messages that Stick
You will learn how to create messages that people remember and move them to act.
