Next week at about this time, we will be meeting with the Future Leadership Fellows from Chicago. We will be presenting Applying Finance featuring Professor Greg Reilly in partnership with Arts Alliance Illinois. Here’s an overview of what we’ll be covering:
Introductions and Welcome
Session 1: Value Creation
This session focuses on the central role of value creation in all organizations. We will understand the meaning of value creation and identify dimensions of value for arts organizations. We will preview the linkages between financial management and the ability of organizations to create value.
Session 2: The role of finance in key organizational decisions
Financial concepts play a key role in many important organizational decisions. In this session we will explore answers to the following questions:
- How can my organization use financial concepts to make better investments for the organization?
- How can my organization use financial concepts to better set prices?
Session 3: The role of finance in key organizational decisions (CONT.)
- How can my organization use financial concepts to more wisely cut costs?
- What is the role of finance in controlling organization activities and rewarding and incentivizing success?
Session 4: People, personalities and communicating about financial management
We will identify the individual leadership styles that affect the roles and goals of people as they contribute to and take from the financial system. We will learn about these style differences and their associated needs. Participants will recognize their own unique financial management needs and contributions as well as what to expect from those with whom they work.
